Little Munchkin Giggle-Box

I've been worrking on this painting day and night, very intensely for the last couple of days. This is a picture of my friend having lunch with her little grand daughter. They were sitting under a pergola with the sun sprinkled on them when my friend's husband snapped the camera. My painting is different from the photo in that, I changed the composition and added foliage. As I worked and re-worked the happy little girl's face trying to get the expression just right, I found myself talking to her and ended up calling her little Miss Munchkin Giggle-Box.

Only God Can Judge Me

That's what his tatoo says that is written accross his chest. I really like it.
This is a painting of my friend and her boyfriend from a photo that she took herself. What struck me about the photo was the look of love in her eye and I wanted to capture that look in the painting. There is a hint of playfulness too as he bent down to kiss her as she snapped the photo. I hope I was able to capture in pastel the warmth, love and happiness that I saw in the phot0,
